On Tuesday, February 12, the 47-year-old country music star announced via Instagram that he and Gwen, 54, will be making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Valentine’s Day at 11:35 p.m. ET.
“Our Valentine’s Day plans include @jimmykimmel!” A snapshot of Blake strumming a guitar and Gwen grinning and twirling her hair was captioned by Blake.
Just one week after their new duet “Purple Irises” was released, the couple makes an appearance on the talk show. After being together for a long time, Gwen and Blake’s love remains strong, as they sing in the song.
“This face belongs to me even though it’s not 1999. I swear my heart hits replay when you look at me, they sing in the pre-chorus.
The two of them sing in the chorus about how they’ve never felt love like theirs.
“But if someone were to attempt to love you as much as I love you / I wouldn’t know what to do / I would hate to see you go,” she sings, before continuing, “No, I’ve never experienced love like this / Now we’re gathering purple irises.”
On Sunday, February 11, Gwen and Blake gave the song its first live performance following its release on February 9. The event was the NFL’s TikTok Tailgate Super Bowl 2024 pre-show. After that, they went to Allegiant Stadium’s VIP suite to watch the game and take a cute photo together.
Blake sent Gwen a bouquet of purple irises as a gift on January 29 and 30, and Gwen used those photographs to hint at their next song. “Never knew a love like this” was written on a polaroid of Gwen and Blake that was included in one of the snaps, and “To: Pretty Girl, Love, Blake” was on the other.
Fans were worried about the couple’s marital stability before they made public shows of their affection. After six years of dating, Gwen and Blake tied the knot in July 2021. However, they chose to spend New Year’s Eve apart. According to an insider who spoke with Life & Style in January, the former Voice contestants were “leading separate lives,” which was impacting their marital happiness.
In the wake of breakup rumors, fans started analyzing Gwen and Blake’s social media accounts. They noted that Blake refrained from publicly congratulating Gwen at the announcement of No Doubt’s inclusion in the Coachella roster. As for Blake’s forthcoming tour, Gwen chose not to publicly announce it.
Their relationship has devolved into “a lot of texting and talking on the phone,” according to another insider who spoke with Life & Style exclusively on February 1.
